ASO pondera alargar Dakar a mais países

A cerca de dois meses do Dakar 2011, a ASO já terminou os derradeiros reconhecimentos da prova, estando portanto tudo a postos para mais uma edição da mítica maratona. O percurso deste ano tem algumas novidades, como por exemplo a ida da prova ao norte da Argentina, sendo que 70 por centro do percurso no país de Maradona é novo. A passagem para o Chile dar-se-á este ano em Paso Jama, a cerca de 4.000 metros de altitude. Como não podia deixar de ser, o deserto do Atacama vai ser novamente um bico-de-obra para os concorrentes.

Segundo o diretor desportivo do evento, David Castera, a prova deste ano será mais difícil e também mais bonita, com a organização a escolher zonas onde a paisagem é absolutamente deslumbrante.

Mas o futuro está já à porta, e por isso a ASO pondera levar o Dakar para outros países da América do Sul, tendo já enviado equipas de reconhecimentos a várias zonas do Brasil, Peru, Paraguai e Uruguai, pelo que qualquer destes países é hipótese. A única alteração passaria por fazer os concorrentes rumar a norte de Buenos Aires ao invés da ‘boucle’ que fazem atualmente, para Sul e Sudoeste.
