O novo MINI Countryman WRC testou hoje em Ponte de Lima, com o piloto estónio Markko Martin aos seus comandos. Depois da Prodrive ter passado o dia de ontem a preparar o carro e todos os detalhes no terreno relativos ao teste, eis que hoje foi a vez de Martin realizar algumas passagens, já num excelente andamento, que surpreendeu muitos dos presentes, especialmente o ‘cantar’ do novo motor BMW 1.6 turbo. Ao lado do piloto estónio esteve, por diversas vezes, David Lapworth, o ‘gestor’ do projecto MINI por parte da Prodrive, que liderou a equipa de desenvolvimento que, para já, nada diz acerca do carro.
Para já, a carroçaria disponível é semelhante à que rodou em Inglaterra, pelo que a maior parte dos apêndices que equiparam o carro são ainda provisórios, e só depois da apresentação oficial da equipa, no início do próximo mês, se ficará a conhecer a configuração final do novo MINI.
Como seria de esperar, foram muitos os adeptos que não perderam oportunidade de ver in loco o novo carro, e já existem mesmo vídeos disponíveis no youtube do teste. A equipa deverá manter-se me Ponte de Lima até à próxima quinta-feira, ainda que em zonas e tipos de piso distintos.
