Excessos (ou não) à parte, a verdade é que é completamente natural um adepto sentir um enorme arrepio na espinha ao ouvir o som dum motor de Fórmula 1 e o impacto dos anos 60, 70 ou mesmo 80 não é sequer parecido com o dos últimos seis anos. Os saudosistas recordam com saudade os bons velhos tempos da F1, e os adeptos mais recentes, que ainda se recordam do inconfundível barulho do V12 da Ferrari, a era dos 3 litros e dos interessantes V10, de 1995 a 2005, e desde 2006 até hoje, os V8 de 2.4 Litros, que, soando bem mais suaves que os anteriores, ainda são perfeitamente tolerados pelos adeptos. Agora surgem os V6…
A semana passada a FIA anunciou que não ia impor os mais económicos motores quatro cilindros, turbo, de 1.6 Litros já em 2013, como estava previsto, adiando esta entrada por mais doze meses, impondo no entanto motores V6. Compreende-se a ambição da FIA, que passa por permitir a criação de motores mais ecológicos, desenvolver tecnologias híbridas. V12, V10, V8, agora V6, limitados a 15.000 rpm. Foi o compromisso a que se chegou, mas a verdade é que as sinfonias do passado, com as suas grandes misturas de sons, terminaram para sempre. O efeito que isto irá ter, ninguém sabe muito bem qual vai ser.
Curioso é, na maioria das áreas todos anseiam pelo futuro e pelo avanço da tecnologia, enquanto nos automóveis de competição são cada vez mais aqueles que recordam com nostalgia o passado. Entre as gerações de hoje, alguém era capaz de assistir a um Grande Prémio de Fórmula 1 onde só se fazia ouvir o silêncio elétrico?
