Tudo em aberto na luta pelo título no IRC

Em condições normais, Freddy Loix e Thierry Neuville precisariam dos dois restantes ralis para diminuírem a diferença pontual que os separa do líder do IRC, Jan Kopecký, já que o piloto checo soma 128 pontos, enquanto os belgas têm 103 (Juho Hanninen está um pouco mais atrás com 98). Só que este ano, os organizadores do IRC decidiram inovar pelo que as duas restantes provas do IRC, os Ralis da Escócia e Chipre valem mais pontos que as provas até aqui.

Ou seja, na Escócia os pontos que forem obtidos pelos pilotos valem mais 50% (o vencedor somará 25+12,5=37,5 pontos) enquanto o Rali de Chipre vale por dois, ou seja quem ganhar soma 50 pontos, e por aí fora. Neste contexto, é fácil de perceber que, afinal, a margem de Jan Kopecky não é assim tão grande.

A juntar a isto ainda há a questão dos sete melhores resultados de cada piloto e a questão de que pilotos vamos ter em cada uma das provas. Por exemplo, Freddy Loix não deve ir ao Rali da Escócia e Juho Hanninen poderá não voltar a disputar provas do IRC com a equipa oficial da Skoda. A exemplo do que aconteceu com o Rali Sanremo, onde, apesar de estar inscrito, Hanninen não disputou a prova, o mesmo pode suceder nas restantes provas. Uma certeza: Há campeonato até ao fim.
