Os homens da Prodrive continuam a levar o novo MINI Countryman aos seus limites, desta feita em França, na zona de Chateau Lastours, uma “test zone” muito afamada desde os anos 80, quando para lá iam os homens da Citroen com os seus “tanques” ZX Rally Raid, de modo a ‘partir’ tudo que fosse possível, de modo a que o Dakar fosse um passeio. Desde essa altura que aquela zona é bastante utilizada pelas equipas oficiais, e sendo a performance importante, e também testada, é a fiabilidade que mais é colocada à prova.
A juntar aos pilotos oficiais da equipa inglesa, Dani Sordo e Kris Meeke juntou-se agora Armindo Araújo, que muito vai contribuir também para a evolução do novo carro. Araújo já confirmou que: “Estes novos WRC são mais exigentes “, depois do primeiro contacto que teve com o carro na passada sexta-feira.
A equipa tem testado o carro nos mais variados locais, e já passou pela Grã-Bretanha, Portugal, Espanha e França, em pisos de terra e asfalto, como se pode comprovar pelo vídeo realizado pela North One Sport. Armindo Araújo voltará a testar com a equipa oficial no início do mês de março, em Espanha, não estando ainda definida a data exata para a realização dos testes.
